Uncover important information prior to its publication in print! Articles will be indexed conveniently into your weekly or daily Embase Alerts for seamless searching (articles will normally be replaced with the fully indexed records).

If you also receive weekly or daily alerts on forthcoming content, these will soon be enhanced with Emtree indexing terms.
In addition, Ovid has made the following changes to the database:

| FS | Floating Subheading | Subheadings, or "link terms" are qualifiers added to Subject Headings to refine their meaning. Terms such as "adverse drug reaction" or "drug toxicity", when combined with an Subject Headings term, give a very precise idea of what an article covers. The Floating Subheadings (FS) field contains the 2-letter link terms, such as "AN" for drug analysis. |

| HW | Heading Word | Sometimes you may wish to retrieve every Subject Heading that includes a particular word; this is done by searching the single word in the Heading Word (HW) field. | ||
| SH | Subject Headings | The Subject Headings (SH) field contains the specific medical terms used by EMBASE Daily/Weekly Alerts to describe the content of an article. However please note that these preliminary indexing terms are subject to change and may be enhanced when record gets into Embase Proper from the Embase Alert file. | ||

| Clinical Trials | A limit to Clinical Trials will restrict retrieval to various trial types indexed in EMBASE found in this limit. This allows for limiting to only those records that refer to trials in certain phase. For example limiting to Phase 3 Clinical Trial, will retrieve only those records that are Phase 3 Clinical Trials. | |||
| Cochrane Library | A limit to Cochrane Library will restrict retrieval to EMBASE documents from Cochrane Library. | |||
| EBM-Evidence Based Medicine | A limit to Evidence Based Medicine will restrict retrieval of results to only Evidence Based Medicine records or subsets of those such as meta analysis, outcomes research etc. | |||
| Article In Press | Article In Press as Publication Types limit, will limit searches to Articles in Press, retrieving only the latest information, ahead of print. | |||
